Canada Art Pottery Turquoise Drip Glaze Scalloped Bowl 9.5”

US$325.00

Collector-grade Canadian art pottery bowl, clearly marked “CANADA” on the base with a raised geometric emblem (please see base photo—this is the mark for this exact bowl). This piece features an elegant scalloped/flower rim and a dramatic, kiln-fired glaze presentation: a high-gloss turquoise/teal variegated glaze with visible movement and depth, paired with a darker exterior (black-brown) and subtle glaze runs at the rim—typical of reactive/drip glaze work where layered glazes flux and “break” in the firing to create natural tonal shifts and pooling.

Attribution & Period

Based on the form, glaze treatment, and “CANADA” country mark style, this bowl is most consistent with mid-century Canadian art pottery, circa 1950s–1970s.

Dimensions & Weight

  • Mouth/rim diameter: 9 1/2” •

  • Base diameter: 4 1/2” •

  • Height: 3”

Authenticity & Construction

(collector notes) •

Kiln-fired ceramic (art pottery) with high-gloss reactive/drip glaze • Scalloped rim and shallow-foot base, designed primarily as a decorative bowl / centerpiece Condition

Condition

Excellent—no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Strong gloss and color. Important note about the photos A coordinating matching vase appears in one photo for illustration only. This listing is for the bowl only. The vase will be listed and sold separately.

STANDARD ATTRIBUTION & VALUE DISCLOSURE

This piece is described to the best of current scholarly and market knowledge. Any maker or regional attribution is based on visual analysis, materials, construction techniques, and documented stylistic comparisons. As with many vintage and antique glass objects, definitive attribution may not be possible without original labels or factory records. Pricing reflects condition, quality, decorative appeal, and current collector demand rather than a guaranteed maker identification.
