Mikisi Crystal Blue Swirl Art Glass Bowl, Czech Modernist
Sculptural late-20th-century art glass bowl by Mikisi Crystal, Czech Republic, distinguished by its dynamic cobalt-blue ribbon inclusions suspended within exceptionally clear crystal. The form is elongated and softly lobed, with a continuous spiral motion that reads as both fluid and architectural; very much in keeping with Czech modernist crystal traditions of the 1970s1990s. The bowl is thick-walled and weighty, with deeply molded channels that catch and refract light dramatically. The blue trails are fully cased within the glass, not surface-applied, confirming true hot-worked studio production rather than pressed decorative glass.
Authentication + Technique
When displayed, the piece throws crisp optical shadows and highlights, a hallmark collectors look for in quality Czech crystal. A partially intact original Mikisi Crystal paper label remains to the base (now faded, as shown), which aligns in material, construction, and design language with known Mikisi output. Mikisi Crystal is recognized for producing export-quality decorative crystal during the late Cold War and post-Communist transition era, often favoring bold color contrasts and sculptural silhouettes.

This piece works equally well as a standalone object, vide-poche, or low-profile centerpiece, and presents exceptionally in a curated modern or postwar interior. Modernist · Postwar · Mid- to Late-20th Century Czech Art Glass
